Dr Nicholas Holliday

After an undergraduate degree at Cambridge University, Nick Holliday obtained his PhD at King’s College London, supported by an AJ Clark PhD studentship from the British Pharmacological Society. During subsequent postdoctoral work in London, his interests in peptide messengers regulating appetite and metabolism became focussed on molecular mechanisms underlying the signalling of their receptors. Dr. Holliday was awarded an independent fellowship at the University of Nottingham in 2006, and appointed Lecturer in 2011, during which time he was awarded the Bill Bowman travelling lectureship. He became Associate Professor of Pharmacology in 2013, with a research group focussed on new imaging methodologies to understand the binding and signalling of G protein coupled receptors and other membrane proteins, and the molecular properties of their effector complexes. Nick combines his university position with a role as Director of Receptor Pharmacology at Excellerate Bioscience Ltd, a contract research organisation specialising in in vitro pharmacology.
